About Sahayi

Years ago, a lady approached Sahayi office to get some medicine for her beloved. Sahayi volunteers directed that lady to the nearby medical shop, as the medicine was unavailable at the drug bank of Sahayi. A volunteer accompanied the lady to ensure that she would get medicine. He paid the amount of the medicine which was costing only Rs.3. He got literally annoyed and asked the lady “didn’t you have Rs.3 to pay for the medicine?” She replied “NO”. She said that she had to spend Rs.2.50 per day to reach medical college, that too after walking half the way.

At this juncture comes Sahayi, which provides invaluable service to the society. Established in 1995, Sahayi has been the pillar for poor people who approached Medical College for treatment. During the last one-and-a-half decade, we have come across many such incidents which motivate us to go on serving the society in whatever ways we can.

As a non-profit organisation, Sahayi has started providing free food to the patient and bystanders at Kozhikode Medical College. Sahayi received an overwhelming response from every quarter, which has helped us to take up further activities such as renovation of hospital wards, blood donation camps and artificial limp distribution. In addition to all these philanthropic activities, Sahayi serves as a potential platform for poor people to get donors to take their treatment forward.

With the monopoly in every sector haunting poor sections in society, Sahayi is taking a big leap in service sector in order to ensure that economically weaker sections get all financial support for their health and education. With www.sahayitoday.com, we provide a platform for the needy to connect with the donors.
