About Kozhikode Govt. Medical College

Formed in the year 1957, Kozhikode Govt. Medical College in Kerala has been a home of relief for sufferers and their families from all northern Malabar districts and even from the borders of Tamil Nadu & Karnataka states. The facilities at Kozhikode Medical College appear as if insufficient with a rise in volume of patients getting admitted here day by day.

Have a look at these records given below:

As per the latest records, in NMCH wing there are 1185 beds (1966 onwards), IMCH – 1065 (1975 onwards) and 101 beds in cancer wing. This seems to be totally insufficient as the count of patients getting admitted here is 3-4 times of the present bed strength which has not been enhanced for over 35 years. Thousands of patients visit the OP section every day apart from the above given count.

Sahayi recently formed ‘Save KGMC forum’ under the guidance & assistance of many retired well known doctors and health specialists with a vision named KGMC vision 2020. If we try to improve whatever we see here at KGMC, then we are sure, by the year 2020 we can’t improve KGMC to meet its requirements for the future. Hence Sahayi decided to set agendas to focus on four tasks primarily.

  • Basic requirements of the patients
  • Hospital Equipments
  • Hospital Staffs &
  • New Departments

We are confident, together we can make a change, be with us.
